Leeds United star Anton Stach wants meeting in Daniel Farke’s office
Anton Stach has made it clear that Daniel Farke’s trust has transformed his Leeds United form, and that progress has now pushed him back into the Germany picture after more than two years away.
Stach has been called up by Julian Nagelsmann for Germany’s pre-World Cup fixtures against Switzerland and Ghana this month. It comes after Nagelsmann openly criticised Stach’s aerial ability, in public.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Stach thanked Farke for getting the best out of him, which in turn has earned the midfielder a Germany return: “I have to thank him a lot because he trusts in me.
“He put me on the pitch so that I could show my abilities. Also, the way he is coaching me, I think I have to be very thankful and have to go in his office and say ‘thank you’,” Stach said this week. That statement places Leeds boss Farke at the centre of Stach’s development, with the midfielder highlighting both trust and coaching as decisive factors in his progress this season.
Stach’s performances show clear statistical progress
Since his arrival, Stach has delivered 28 appearances, four goals and three assists across all competitions, establishing himself as a consistent presence in the side, as well as a set-piece specialist.
He has also recorded 25 Premier League appearances and over 2,000 minutes, underlining the level of responsibility placed on him in midfield.
Stach’s international record remains limited, as he has 2 Germany caps and has not scored at senior level. His last appearance came in June 2022, which emphasises the length of time he has spent outside the setup before his current form put him back into contention.
His consistent selection and output this season show that investment is being matched by performance, with Farke’s backing central to that return and his role within the side.
